The business was setup originally by two friends, a designer and a developer. Over the years we’ve increased both the breath of expertise and the friendships formed. We all see the mutual benefits of working collaboratively together.

During most of the business week, you’ll find us working independently from our home offices. However, we’re also fortunate to have access to fantastic facilities at The Circle in Sheffield should an in-person meeting be requested.

The Way We Work
One of the key things that set us apart from larger design firms is that you have direct contact with the individuals that work on your project. This cuts down miscommunication issues as you speak directly to the experts.
The business isn’t run as an agency, so pricing is based on the direct costs of the specialists you need. Without agency-style commissions or cuts, we can price ourselves competitively, generally charging much less than other comparable larger design businesses.
We meet as a collective group at the beginning of your project and then manage each phase individually. At the start of the project, your primary contact will be Andrew, as he leads the strategy, design process and any Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to ensure continuity in traffic between the current and new versions of the website.
Our team prides itself on being transparent, approachable and available, with trust and reliability key to our business. This ethos has helped us successfully foster long-term relationships with large organisations – the University of Sheffield has contracted us to produce eleven websites to date.

Questions regarding the way we operate
Who manages the design and build process?
We believe that the best person to guide you is the person actively working on your project. So, during the design process, you’ll be in direct contact with the designer. During the build, you’ll have the developer on speed dial. And, when it comes to the write-up, your copywriter is only an email away.
How are payments made?
Although we work independently we use Edge as a business to channel all quotes, invoicing, and agreements.
How much do I pay upfront?
Unlike a lot of design/development services, we don’t ask for full payment in advance; after all, you have a business to run! In order to begin your project, we simply ask for a 10% deposit upfront.
Can I have support after the project is live?
Almost all of our clients continue to work with us for support and maintenance after the project is live, however there’s no obligation if you don’t need this.
What if I want to make adjustments after it’s built?
We build the backend of the site with as much care as the front. We set it up in a way that allows you to take control yourself and makes changes when required.
How do you market a website?
We always recommend clients focus on organic search rankings as search engines provide us with free advertising. However, depending on the types of business social media and paid adverting can pay a huge role. We have setup Edge to support website through all types of online marketing.
Will I be tied to Edge after the project
You will own every aspect of the design and development of your site. Throughout the process we will ensure that you retain full control and won’t be tied to anyone throughout the process.
Do I have to pay VAT?
We are a VAT registered company so this will be included in our quotes and invoicing.
Can I use a third-party for hosting?
There’s no obligation to use us to host your website however we’d be happy to discuss the benefits of using us to support your website.
